KI appoints Alexander Gifford to spearhead EMEA product development
Following record growth across the EMEA region in 2018, KI has appointed Alexander Gifford to the newly created role of Design Director. Bringing his vast experience across the UK and European furniture industry, Alexander will lead an expanded London-based design team that will work closely with customers to co-create unique furniture solutions for large projects.
Many of KI’s recent major project wins over the past year have involved customised and new designs for workstations, tables, storage and seating. Combining his recent experience at Kinnarps, Allemuir/Senator Group and Steelcase, Alexander is perfectly placed to guide customers through this complex journey with ease.
Alexander has worked in the workplace furniture industry for 20 years since graduating from Birmingham University and the Royal College of Art with degrees in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering respectively. This experience will make Alexander an invaluable asset to KI’s overall product development strategy. Bringing together his team’s expertise with KI’s diverse network of manufacturing partners across the UK and overseas, he will improve the entire production process from research and conceptual design, to prototyping and production.
Alex Gifford, KI’s new Design Director, comments: "KI has developed a market-leading reputation for delivering furniture solutions that are well engineered and smoothly executed, in an incredibly agile way. Its profile as both a global brand and local manufacturer is supported by a strong and flexible network of factories across the UK and around the world. This robust supply chain gives KI the ability to draw on best practices and deliver what clients really need, as opposed to selling them what it happens to produce. I’m excited to have been asked to lead this growing team and support our customers bring their projects to life."
