KI's Hatton chair is the perfect fit for ROC Nijmegen, The Netherlands
Nestled between the railway and the bus lane, AGS Architects created Campusbaan 6 of ROC Nijmegen to provide educational facilities in the form of a shopping centre. As part of a refurbishment project for Dutch secondary education school, Projectum Inrichten B.V. were instructed to create a hybrid learning environment that supports innovative pedagogical methods where students can work on their own or in several groups.
KI's Hatton chairs were specified by interior designer Marloes Miltenburg of Projectum Inrichten B.V. for three of the new learning squares. The chairs were chosen as their design complemented the environment perfectly as well as providing functionality and comfort.
Completed in cool tones such as light blue and green, the whole concept of the space was to focus on the wellbeing of students and their teachers and to inspire them during their studies. This colour scheme is recommended for secondary education students as it aids concentration and focus.
Miltenburg commented, "The end result is very beautiful and creates the desired experience and function. The full interior design includes customised and flexible furniture as well as beautiful green areas, but still includes the necessary innovative pedagogy concepts."
