KI in Designer’s Hub at Surface Design Show
7-9th February 2023, Business Design Centre
As part of this year’s Surface Design Show, KI have been asked to fit-out the ‘Designer’s Hub’ – a space designed in line with the show’s concept of shaping communities while offering a space that aims to meet varying needs.
The Hub itself has been designed by Sonia Bourrel of Sonia b design and will be furnished with an array of KI products. For seating this includes the lightweight, multipurpose Hatton chair, the comfortable, pillowy Take5 chairs and sofas, the gyroscopic Sway2, and the distinctively backed Grafton stool.
In terms of surfaces there will be a range of low, medium, and high tables from KI’s Athens and Take5 ranges, as well as a large 6-seater EC4 table.
Both P and C series screens, and 800 series shelving have been used to divide the space into different environments. The screens provide a level of privacy for those wishing to have small meetings, or for individual work, while the 800 series shelving units strike a balance between privacy and openness, with added greenery to create a restful and calming space for special guests and speakers.
The Hub has also been arranged in such a way that there will be a ‘live area’ – a vibrant but informal space that aims to bring people together and start conversations. There will also be a refreshment counter available.
As part of this partnership, KI will also be presenting the trophy in the ‘Temporary Structure’ category of the 2023 Surface Design Awards.
