The brief
KI added a splash of colour to the Highfields & Penn Fields School in Wolverhampton with Postura+ chairs. The school required a robust, cost effective, stackable seating solution for its students’ chairs. The design of the site created an all new campus, relocating Highfields Science Specialist School with Penn Fields Special Needs School, allowing the two schools to easily share learning, sport and recreation resources, centrally locating them where they are readily accessible to the community.
Flexible furniture and ICT supports and encourages learner led activity, such as group work, group discussions and learner presentations. This space also supports teacher led activities for larger groups.
The aim of both schools is focused on the development through the personalisation of pupils learning with the provision of centralised multifunction spaces that will support a range of flexible learning, new approaches and teaching styles. The new site intelligently organises the campus to minimise impact on the Green Belt whilst maximising views from it of its attractive landscape setting. This is a highly sustainable project which has also been given a BREEAM rating of “Excellent”.
Our solution
Postura+ stackable seating - The Postura+ range were the most economically suitable robust student chairs. The single piece moulding ensures that there are no fixings to loosen over time. The chair is light weight which makes for ease of stacking. However, the most important of all consideration for the students is that the chair provides ergonomic support and is very comfortable. Manufactured in the UK, Postura+ is available in a range of seven sizes and in a variety of colours.
Malcolm Atkinson, Director, Halo EducationHalo have specified the Postura+ on a number of large projects and have always found KI to be an efficient customer focused supplier
