The brief
One of the largest ever developments for Northumberland County Council, the new Ponteland campus is home to a community of 52 nursery pupils, 420 primary school pupils, and 1600 secondary school students.
Built by Kier Construction, the campus was designed to benefit both the pupils and students as well as the wider local community. Alongside the schools, there is a café, a sports bar, a library, and a leisure centre with a four-court sports hall. There is also a six-lane swimming pool, indoor cricket nets, virtual cycling studio, soft play area, and a spa & gym.
Sangwin Educational Furniture Ltd was awarded the contract by Kier to carry out the consultancy, manufacture and installation of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) throughout the school. Part of their goal was to create the best possible environments for students.

Our solution
Postura+ Chairs: KI's iconic Postura+ one piece chair was chosen in a variety of sizes and colours including Lime Zest, Ash Grey and Tangerine Fizz for the classrooms, library, and break-out spaces in the schools.
Ergonomically designed to promote good posture, the chairs are made with 100% recyclable high impact-resistant polypropylene, and are stain-resistant.
Postura+ stools were used for the science labs and Postura+ Task Chairs in the ICT rooms.
Maestro HD Stacking Chairs: Maestro chairs were specified for various spaces throughout the school where their lightweight, durable and high-density stackable design was required.
Stacking up to 10 on the floor, increasing to 38 chairs on its dolly, Maestro chairs make the perfect solution for spaces that need to be flexible.
