Supporting the future of British design & manufacturing
Committed to supporting British design and manufacturing, KI sponsors a number of initiatives under its KICKSTART programme. KI Europe recognises emerging talent through the annual Mixology Student Furniture Designer of the Year Award. Opportunities to display projects during design events in London are provided within KI's headquarters. KI also works closely with the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, the furnishing industry's charity, to support their fundraising and student support initiatives such as factory tours, apprenticeships and student awards and bursaries.

KI sponsor The National School of Furniture’s (NSF), MA Furniture Design Summer School KI and The Furniture Makers’ Company sponsorship of this years Buckinghamshire New University MA Furniture Design Summer School from 16th – 23rd June 2013, gave students a unique opportunity to work on a design brief co-written by key sponsor KI, Italian furniture company Lago and Buckinghamshire New University.

KI Europe sponsored the Mixology13 Student Furniture Designer of the Year. The award is open to any person enrolled on a recognised furniture design course in the UK. This year’s award went to Kathryn Sumroy of Buckinghamshire New University for her innovative design for The Ribbon Shelf and Timber Stack.
