KI Europe were delighted to sponsor the 'Building of the Year' at last night's Icon Awards. The award was taken out by O'Donnell + Tuomey for their Saw Swee Hock Student Centre at the London School of Economics.

As part of a refurbishment for the Faculty of Business and Law, the client brief was to uplift the current tablet chair specification for the classrooms, calling for something more professional and corporate. Paul Durbidge of London Metropolitan University working with Emergent Crown found the perfect solution in KI's Torsion on the Go! nesting chairs with their generously sized folding tablet arms.

The client required a volume of KI Strive chairs for the 7,592 sqm building spread over four floors which accommodates for 2,500 students as well as staff.

Barton Peveril, in Hampshire is a green building with light airy classrooms, solar panels and a rainwater harvester system – which will make studying maths, psychology and sport three of the most environmentally friendly subjects to study at the school!

The Postura+ chair, the UK's first choice classroom chair is now available in 15 standard colours, 5 of which are new shades. All 15 colours are also adopting a new, two-word naming format which aims to provide consistency and remove any ambiguity with regard to colour type.
